Rh Ilam Orange [(zeylanicum x Pink Pearl) x dichroanthum] Compact and spreading to 2 m, M-ML. Lvs with distinctive red-brown petioles. Fls yellow bells veined orange-red. Very free flowering and popular. (Edgar Stead, RHS, 1958) {Ref: RHS Yearbook 1960, article by W. Douglas Cook, p. 54. Rh Bernice [polyandrum x Royal Flush Townhill] Compact, vigorous shrub. Glossy dark-green foliage, 10 x 4.5 cm, scaly below. Truss of 7 crimson fls, 6 x 8 cm, becoming blush white around lobes. Rh Rubicon [Noyo Chief x Kilimanjaro] 1.2m M. Cardinal red, spotted black inside upper lobes. Dense truss of 17-18 campanulate fls. Compact habit. Dense glossy dark green foliage with slightly scurvy indumentum below. (R [1958] and reg by Mr R.C. Gordon, Rongoiti, RD 1, Taihape,1976.)AD 1984. Rh Ilam Cream [Loderi g seedling] Vigorous open habit to 2 m, M-ML. Large, loose domed truss of 8-9 fls, pink in bud opening rich cream suffused with deep pink around the lobes. Each funnel-shaped flower is up to 6.5 cm long and 14 cm across, 6-lobed and frilled. Scented. (R by Mr Edgar Stead before 1950. Reg by Mr Roland Stead, Waterford, Amberly, North Canterbury, 1980.)
